You are provided with little information about direction and you reach a cross road…what would be your reaction? Which direction would you follow? Don’t know.. well.. may be use your common sense.
Well, this was exactly the reaction of the students that were sent to Tamil Nadu for addmission to Engineering Colleges. Firstly, their nomination letter didn’t had proper address. It was addressed to The Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai, without any reference to whom to report for further instruction. Besides, the letter didn’t tell where or which part of Chennai this Directorate was located. Anyway, the students, those coming to Chennai for first time were able to reach this office by applying their common sense. But to their horror, it was found that allotment letter for addmission will be issued only during the first week of August. (Some had reached Chennai during the first week of July). With no alternatives left, the students along with their parents/guardians had to stay at Chennai till the first week of August.
When the day came, they again visited the office to collect their allotment letters. To the horror of students, opting for IT during the counselling at Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar, it was found that it ( CT&I interpreted by State Govt. as IT) was not IT but CSE (Computer Sceince and Engineering) as their is no branch as CT&I as offered at Tamil Nadu. Now after spending so much time here at Chennai, losing all the money and patience, the student and their parents had no option but to accept the offered CSE branch against IT as was offered at Itanagar.
Now, had the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, done a bit of enquiry regarding session time and branches, the students and parents wouldn’t have lost their precious time and money and would have been in the right stream/branch/trade that they opted for during the counselling at Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
